WHAT IS AIDS AND HIV:
AIDS means Acquired(You can get infected with HIV virus), Immune Deficiency(Weakness of Body Immune system)
Syndrom(A group of health problem that make-up a disease), and the culprit organism is the HIV virus or Human
immune deficiency virus. There are two type of HIV 1. SIV(Simian Immune deficiency virus) and 2. HIV( Human
immune deficiency virus. so Both Human and Chimpanzee have been infected by these viruses which destroying
or imparing the immune system of body leading to AIDS. Being HIV positive or having HIV disease, is not the
the same as having AIDS. Many people are HIV- positive but don't get sick for many years. As HIV disease continues
it slowly wears down the immune system. It can take 10-15 years for an HIV-infected persion to develop AIDS.
Antiretroviral drugs can slow down the process even fruther. Viruses, Parasites,Fungi and Bacteria that usually
don't cause any problem can make you very sick if your immune system is damaged. These are called Opportunistic
infections. HIV disease become AIDS when your immune system is seriously damaged. If you have less than 200 CD4
cells or if your CD4 percentage less than 14%, you have AIDS. If you have opportunistic infection-You have AIDS.
AIDS dose not kill your rather these infections and cancer can Kill You.
